Formerly known as The Pen Guardian, I have been making this Fountain Pen Case for a number of years. My dad was the one who originally designed it. The gentleman I made them for retired and told me I could do what I like with the design. So, I decided to add it to my shop. It is a great design, and I have refined it over the years so that it comes out beautifully.
The case has a 2-part system: an outer case with a flap closure, and an insert that holds 2 fountain pens. The insert can be used in conjunction with the case or by itself. The insert features cutouts to protect the clips on your pens from wear. The leather is quality calfskin, which I dye and finish by hand. I also finish the inside of the insert to protect your pens. The photos show cases I made for another customer, with his company logo on the flap, which is an option I can do as well. I can also add a monogram, which will be on the flap. (Please note that monogrammed items cannot be returned.)
I use a variety of fine quality full grain leathers in my products, sourcing only the best quality materials available. This leather is a veg-tanned calfskin that I dye and finish by hand here in my shop. This calfskin (also known as kip) is softer and more durable than full-grown veg-tanned cowhide and is ideally suited for these products. My process preserves the natural characteristics of the hide, allowing both the character and natural flaws to show through, much like staining wood does. Balancing perfection against wastefulness, I minimize imperfections as much as possible, placing them on the inside or back of my products when necessary. This leather is smooth and soft, with a semi-gloss transparent finish.
