These are the veg tanned kip hides (young cow/calf skin) that I use every day to make wallets, notebooks and much more. These calf hides are 2-3 oz thick, veg tanned, natural and unfinished. They take leather dye beautifully, dyeing brighter than other veg tanned leathers I use. The hides are clean and smooth, softer and more flexible than veg tanned full grown cow hides. Kip hides are more dense than their full grown cow counterparts, making extremely durable products. This veg tanned leather stamps cleanly and wet molds beautifully. These excellent quality hides are truly a joy to work with.
